Bernard A. Redding, 75, of Shell Lake died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Parkview Nursing Home after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born March 12, 1938 in Hastings, MN to Clarence and Marie (Lucking) Redding. He was married in Arkansaw, WI on May 19, 1962 to Sandra Jean Hazen. Bernard enjoyed spending time on his tractor, tinkering in the garage, going to auctions, farming, fishing, hunting and gardening. Most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and spoiling their dog, Penny.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Sandra of Woodville, children, Jeff (Deanna) Redding of Ellsworth, Dawn (Bill) Kane of Coon Rapids, MN, Tim (Chris) Redding of Ellsworth and Robyn (Robin) Major of New Richmond, grandchildren, Nate, Jessie, Rachael, Andrea, Christopher, Tanner, Spencer, James, Heather, Chase and Michael, great grandson, Shawn and sisters, Marlene Morrison of Trego and Bernice Durham of Whitehall. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant grandchild, baby sister, Marie and his brother, Marvin Redding.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Spooner, WI with Father Ed Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Durand, WI with Military Honors preformed. Pallbearers are Deanna Redding, Bill Kane, Robin Major, Nate Kane, Rachael Kane, Chris Major, James Major, Spencer Redding and Tanner Redding.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Shell Lake and one hour prior to Mass Wednesday at the church.
